Potomac Owners Group
Smith Mountain Lake Weekend
Drive & Dine Event

Please join the Potomac Owners Group for a weekend drive and dine to beautiful Smith Mountain Lake near Roanoke, Virginia on Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Smith Mountain Lake was created by building a hydroelectric dam across the Smith Mountain Gorge where the Roanoke and Blackwater Rivers converge.  The dam was completed in 1963 and the lake filled to “full pond” in 1966.  Today it is a gorgeous 22,000 acre lake with 500 miles of shoreline.  This year, many special events are planned to mark the 50th Anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake.  We hope that you will join us for a relaxed POG weekend event.
Smith Mountain Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of rural south-central Virginia.  It is southeast of Roanoke and about a four (4) hour drive from Northern Virginia.  The most direct route is US Route 29 through Charlottesville.  Along this route, stops in Charlottesville, Monticello, Poplar Forest, and Barboursville Winery are just a few possibilities.
